Job Summary:
The Interventional Radiology RN Navigator provides operations based support to the nursing unit and exemplifies the Upstate mission, vision, and values acting in accordance with Upstate policies and procedures. Under direct supervision of the Nurse Manager, duties of the RN Navigator include providing direct patient care and comprehensive coordination of care for patients and their families/caregivers, to eliminate barriers to timely care, facilitate throughput, increase patient and provider satisfaction, maintain point of contact with providers and serve as the first point of contact for patients and families.
Minimum Qualifications:
NYS licensed/registered (or eligible) RN required. Bachelor's degree in Nursing or healthcare related field, three (3) years related RN experience required (preferably in specialty) OR an Associates degree in Nursing and five (5) years related RN experience (preferably in specialty) required. Excellent written/oral communication and interpersonal skills required. CPR-BLS certification required by time of appointment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Three (3) years as a Certified Nurse/Patient Navigator in specialty area preferred. Acute care RN experience preferred.
