Principal Scientist - Genome Characterization

Job description
My client is seeking a highly motivated, self-driven, collaborative and experienced senior molecular biologist with strong next generation sequencing and ddPCR background to join cell engineering teams. The successful candidate will be accountable for genome characterization of our genetically modified iPSC and derived cell product. This role requires dedication to drive science, ability to multitask, excellent communication and organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of scientists and research associates.
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to: - Apply next-generation DNA and RNA sequencing and bioinformatics capability, and additional molecular approaches to provide in-depth understanding of viral vector- and novel nuclease-mediated gene-editing on- and off-targe events.
- Lead iPSC genomic instability study
- Develop analytical methods to support characterization of genetically modified iPSC lines.
Requirements and Experiences - A minimum of 2 years post-graduate experience in relevant roles in academia/industry, preferably in the development of methods and tools for investigation and characterization of cell-based therapy.
- Strong hands-on experience with NGS, ddPCR, real-time PCR and other molecular techniques.
- Experience with circleseq, changeseq, digenome-seq or equivalent off-target identification method is a plus
- Multiomics analysis and bioinformatics expertise is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills and an ability to prioritize effectively to deliver results within established timelines.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are critical in the fast-face and collaborative working environment.
- Demonstrated accountability and flexibility to change project objectives quickly and enthusiastically.
