Ultrasound Technologist

Job description

Candidates must be able to perform ALL Ultrasound exams to include:

• General Ultrasound and Ob/Gyn
• Vascular
• Breast Ultrasound

Duties:

• Provides comprehensive care to patients requiring ultrasound services in an organized and systematic manner according to departmental policy and standards.
• Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations on patients
• Utilize ultrasound equipment to obtain high-quality images
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to determine the appropriate scan protocols for each patient
• Ensure patient comfort and safety during the scanning process
• Analyze and interpret ultrasound images to identify any abnormalities or potential health issues
• Maintain accurate and detailed records of all procedures performed
• Assist in the preparation and maintenance of ultrasound equipment.
• Consults with radiologist when necessary to determine appropriate scanning procedure.
• Completes all paperwork and exam reports associated with technical procedures in a timely manner.
• Proficient in operating ultrasound equipment and understanding scan protocols
• Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology to accurately interpret images
• Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare professionals
• Attention to detail to ensure accurate and precise imaging results
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
• Strong problem-solving skills to address any technical issues that may arise during scanning

Education:

• 3 - 5 years' experience required.
• ARDMS certification is required.
• BLS certification is required.
• Graduated from an accredited Sonography program.
• The ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing, is required.
• Advanced computer skills including email, Microsoft applications and ability to comprehend and utilize Electronic Medical Record System, RIS and PACS Systems.

License/Certification:

• BLS Certification (Preferred)
• Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer License (Required)

Experience:

3-5 years of Ultrasound Experience in all General, OBGYN, Vascular and Breast Ultrasound
