The department of Environmental and Molecular Toxicology is seeking a Program Coordinator. This is a full-time (1.00 FTE ), 12-month, professional faculty position.

The Program Coordinator position supports the Food Safety and Environmental Stewardship Program ( FSES ) within the department of Environmental and Molecular Toxicology. This position provides critical support for the research, instructional and service missions of the university and department, especially for large, complex, extramurally funded multi-year and multi-investigator Center grants. The primary purposes of this position are to support the grant/contract proposal efforts for the laboratory as well as develop and implement research data services and contribute computer programs to manage a central data repository. The position will also assist in creating a data infrastructure to support research. This position will also help coordinate the FSES /PI budget by monitoring expenses and income, and reports on and plans annual budgets in consultation with the FSES Director.

This position will integrate large datasets, enhance data accessibility and interoperability across complex advanced databases. They will assist and develop data sharing guidance/policy and help develop/implement strategic goals for information management. This position determines which projects can be done based on available resources. Review of these decisions is ultimately the responsibility of the Director.

Environmental and Molecular Toxicology is a department within the College of Agricultural

Sciences ( CAS ). The department's primary function is research, with extension activities and student instruction. EMT has 15 professorial faculty and a support staff of over 50 academic and classified employees. EMT's mission is to undertake basic and applied research in the biological and chemical sciences, particularly as they relate to problems of agricultural importance. Activities of the department are supported by funds from the Agricultural Experiment Station ( AES ), grants, contracts, the Extension Service, and the instructional budget of the CAS . Department members are engaged in research on the analysis of pesticide and other chemical residues; biochemical toxicology and drug metabolism; lipid, nutritional, membrane and trace element biochemistry; pesticide and xenobiotic chemistry.

Minimum Qualifications (Staff) / Guidelines (Faculty):

Typically requires Master's Degree in field relevant to program focus.

Requirements :

Bachelor's degree in science, computer science, business, or related field


Prior experience integrating large datasets and working with LIMS software


Experience working in a STEM or adjacent field


Experience in grants/contracts coordination


Experience with the grant proposal submission process and the reporting for NSF , NIH , EPA , or other federal or private granting or contracting.


This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a criminal history check and be determined to be position qualified as per University Standard: 05-010 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in youth programs may have additional criminal history checks every 24 months.

Type:

May have to lift 25 pounds, may require working outdoors, may require some travel, may require not standard hours. A hybrid work schedule is possible dependent on supervisor approval.
