Ithaca, NY-based position for Summer 2024
The College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM) at Cornell University has partnered with City University of Hong Kong (CityU) to develop a College of Veterinary Medicine and Life Sciences that seeks to become a center of excellence in veterinary medicine in Asia. As part of this partnership, CVM hosts CityU vet students in Ithaca, NY each summer for an animal husbandry "extramural studies" program. CVM seeks to hire a DVM to manage the summer program in Ithaca from May - July 2024. The position will develop and oversee educational activities, provide teaching and mentorship, manage student and staff schedules, coordinate program logistics and supervise 8-10 Teaching Assistants. The role requires excellent communication and organizational skills, and ability to effectively collaborate with CityU faculty and staff (remotely), CVM farm managers, farm staff, and NY farmers. Approximately 40 hours/week, Monday - Friday, although some limited weekend work may occur.
Preference will be given to candidates with farm animal experience, teaching or mentorship experience, a commitment to high quality education, and eager to work with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
