Job Location:
The position is a Full-Time, fully remote position. Applicants should be located in the Central or Eastern time zone with a preference for the states of North Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, and Virginia.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare and record journal entries, adjustments and monthly reconciliations.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly sales taxes.
- Perform monthly, quarterly and annual closings.
- Prepare accurate and timely monthly financial reports.
- Prepare timely and accurate monthly budget reports.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and select profit and loss accounts.
- Maintain monthly payroll accruals to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Conduct monthly end financial allocation reviews to ensure accurate expense categorization.
- Prepare and file 1099 year-end reports in compliance with tax regulations.
- Maintain knowledge of generally acceptable accounting practices and procedures.
- Perform assigned general accounting and other related duties for the organization.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Qualifications:
- Associate’s Degree in accounting required Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, (or related field) preferred
- Two (2) years of experience with full cycle accounting
- Experience dealing with multiple clients (public accounting) or entities (corporate accounting)
- Proficient with QuickBooks Online
- Proficient with MS Office
- Knowledge of general financial accounting
- Experience with reviewing financial statements
- Tax experience preferred
- Payroll and 1099 processing experience preferred
- Position is back up for payroll processing
- Understanding of and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
- Prior remote work experience preferred

Physical Conditions & Requirements:
This is a remote position entailing sitting for extended periods of time and working on a computer. Additional evening or weekend hours may be required on occasions if necessary. Required travel is 10% or less for this position. Candidate must be able to work from home with proper internet and phone connections and with minimal distractions.
