Who We Are : Founded in 1947 by the Sisters of the Divine Compassion, located in the Throgs Neck neighborhood of the Bronx, Preston High School is an all-girls private Catholic college preparatory school rooted in the virtues of dignity, honor, respect, and compassion. What We Expect : At Preston High School, you will be joining a diverse community of life-long learners who design and implement a thoughtful, college preparatory curriculum. The ideal candidate will:

  1. Continue developing Preston's emerging computer science program by:

    1. Teaching an App Development course for 9th grade and a Creative Computing course for 10th grade.

    2. Planning and teaching a 12th grade App Design and Web Development course.

    3. Planning an 11th grade computer science course and implementing it during the 2024-2025 academic year.

  2. Teach age-appropriate digital citizenship lessons.

  3. Engage the Preston Community during Digital Citizenship Week.

  4. Engage the Preston Community during Computer Science Education Week.

  5. Moderate a Coding co-curricular club and provide opportunities for members to learn robotics and enter coding competitions.

  6. Participate in school-wide community activities including, but not limited to: homeroom mentoring, communal services, liturgies, retreats, counseling students with academic problems.

  7. Support extracurricular activities such as social activities, sporting activities, clubs, and student organizations.

  8. Participate in department, school and parent meetings.

  9. Serve as Director of Information Technology and Audio Visual Technician. Responsibilities include:

    1. Managing Google Workspace for Education

    2. Managing computers, printers, educational technology devices and student Chromebooks

    3. Supporting cybersecurity initiatives

    4. Supporting technology needs of faculty and staff

    5. Management of audio visual equipment and fulfilling audio visual requests

    6. Following through with technology-related tasks when assigned by administrators

  10. Work efficiently without being micromanaged.

  11. Communicate effectively with students and parents to address and resolve issues quickly.

Required Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution

  2. Valid state teaching license and highly qualified content knowledge.

  3. Experience in Information Technology

  4. Audio Visual knowledge is a bonus.
