What we’re looking for…
Candidate will perform Audio / Video Engineering activities related to attractions ride, show and park/resort wide systems. Working within a provided Audio media and/or Video media scope, perform A/V engineering tasks: blue sky system definition, mockups, preliminary media scope and evaluation of creative intent, facility acoustic design and evaluation, delivery and source equipment criteria and selection, facility sizing and supporting infrastructure, production, and installation!
Job Summary:
- Makes decisions and recommendations that are recognized as authoritative and have a substantial impact on extensive A/V engineering activities for new lands and entire theme park gates.
- Initiates and maintains extensive contact with key engineers, Audio Media Designers, Acousticians and members of other organizations and companies, requiring skill in persuasion and collaboration,
- Demonstrate and practice creativity, foresight, and mature engineering judgment in anticipating and solving unprecedented A/V engineering problems, program objectives and requirements, developing standards and guides for diverse engineering activities.
- Ability to supervise an engineering team in the production of engineering designs, documentation for complex projects through all phases of engineering design, production, installation, testing, and documentation. Able to translate creative and functional requirements into design requirements.
- Must have knowledge of the procedures required to develop procurement specifications and design documents with emphasis on complex systems involving Audio and Video equipment, components, systems design and integration, procurement, and installation.
- Must stay versed on current Audio, Acoustic, and Video technology worldwide.
- Ensure conformance to A/V department standards and procedures.
- Provide A/V engineering labor and schedule planning in support of estimating activities.
- Develop specifications and test plans.
- Responsible for following a design through to successful operation and turnover.
- Identify, collect, specify and document A/V interface requirements for utilities including electrical power and equipment cooling/heating loads.
- Review and authorize for release detailed top level, layout and design drawings of electronic subsystems.
- Identify and collect vendor electronic equipment specifications.
- Develop risk analysis and inform management, as required.
- Direct designers in the preparation of detailed facility and electronic equipment drawings.
- Supervise Vendor design activities and resolve technical mishaps between Vendors.
- Design and manage detailed interface requirements between controls and ride mechanical and audio elements.
- Handle first article assembly problems as required.
- Provide electronic contractor support and verification of first article assembly and bench testing, as required.
- Review contractor manufacturing and quality documentation against contract technical requirements.
- Verify A/V equipment installation and acoustic treatments against drawings and requirements.
- Resolve installation complications, interferences, and other problems.
- Supervise field technicians and support personnel as required.
- Verify A/V performance against requirements.
Education, training, knowledge and skills:
- Bachelors of Science in Electronics Engineering, Audio Video Engineering or related field
- Proficiency in AutoCAD
- Proficiency with MS Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Project)
- Knowledge and familiarity with relevant Industry Standards
Desired qualifications:
- Engineering professional experience totaling a minimum of twelve years, including responsibility for engineering analysis and design; developing engineering scopes of work, budgets, schedules and resource plans.
- Strong hardware knowledge and hands-on field installation experience required.
- Must be able to work without supervision but able to integrate inputs from many individuals and work as a team member.
- Must have a high tolerance for change and changing requirements.
- Must be willing to travel, sometimes for extended stays. 6 to 12 months of relocation may be required on some projects.
- Able to communicate (verbally and in writing) clearly and concisely keeping many individuals advised.

The hiring range for this position in location is $123,000.00 to $165,000.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
