Job description

JOB SUMMARY

The Process Technician is responsible for all aspects of the injection mold presses including changing out molds, completing setups, troubleshooting, operation, and maintenance of injection mold equipment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Observe continuous operation of automatic machines to ensure products meet specifications. Detect jams or malfunctions, making adjustments as necessary.
• Measure and visually inspect products for surface and dimension defects to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments.
• Perform mold changes and new product start-ups.
• Troubleshoot processes and equipment.
• Set up, operate, or tend plastic molding machines using thermoplastic materials.
• Perform problem solving to develop corrective actions for customer issues or to initiate continuous improvement.
• Change settings on machines to regulate pressure, temperature, and to set cycle times.
• Ability to plan and prioritize work to make the most productive use of available time with minimal supervision.
• Ability to remain professional and calm in a pressure situation.
• Performs other accountabilities as apparent or assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High School graduate or equivalent.

• Familiar with using Calipers, Micrometers, Height and Bore Gages, Optical Comparators, and Vision System is a plus.

• Must be familiar with an ISO Manufacturing setting. .

• Must understand plastics and different material characteristics.

• Supervision Experience preferred.

• Good communication and ability to multitask and prioritize work to successfully accomplish job duties.

• Strong interpersonal skills a must.

• Self-Motivated

• Good problem-solving skills are essential.

• 5+ years of proven experience working with Plastics Injection Molding in a manufacturing environment.

• On an occasional basis, must be able to put in overtime (paid); perhaps with short notice to maintain production.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Continuously lifting or moving material of light weight (up to 10 pounds)
• Frequently lifting or moving average weight material (between 25-60 pounds)
• Occasionally lifting or moving heavy weight material (over 60 pounds)
• Sitting, Bending, Standing, and Walking 100% of the time.
• Observe and enforce all safety rules and regulations.
• Safety glasses required.
• Steel-toed safety work shoes or boots are required.
• Must have sufficient strength, agility, and dexterity to perform all required tasks.

Pay rate: $26.00-$29.00/hour
