Project Manager-Construction Services
General Statement of Duties:
The Project Manager of Construction Services manages a team of engineers and technicians conducting construction inspection and testing services, and oil and gas projects. The Project Manager also manages to report of construction quality control activities on construction projects.
Supervision Received and Exercised:
The Project Manager works independently on broad projects under the direction of a Dept. Manager, while managing a team of direct reports and projects.

- Manages a team of engineers and technicians conducting construction inspection and testing services, and oil and gas projects.
- Manages reporting of construction quality control activities on construction projects.
- Trains and supervises technicians and inspectors.
- Manages the maintenance of the quality reviews and certifications.
- Manages equipment inventory and calibration.
- Read blue prints.
- Manages client marketing and proposal preparation in conjunction with internal partners.
- Performs various inspections and tests for public and private sector clients. Monitors and enforces quality standards and specifications to support the client.
- Assists in coordination of field personnel, preparation of test reports and performing specialty tests and services for public and private sector clients.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of civil and engineering principles, reporting, analysis and management of teams and projects.
- Knowledge of the construction industry and Engineering equipment.
- Good customer service skills.
- Skilled at building relationships and managing multiple projects.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to manage others, manage projects, and be a team player.
- Ability to be monitor and enforce quality control standards and specifications.
- Ability to be quality minded and client focused.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 7-10 years of experience managing construction projects. (i.e. DOH, local agencies, etc.)
- Significant experience with concrete, asphalt, earthwork, and utility construction engineering services and testing.
- Significant experience with field and laboratory testing of soil, concrete, asphalt, aggregate, masonry, structural steel and fireproofing, etc.
Education/Certifications:
- Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering or similar experience.
- Professional Engineering (PE) certification a must have.
- ACI Grade I, DOT Asphalt Tech, NICET Level II Soils, ICC Special inspections and/or CWI/NDT inspectors, preferred.
- Auto CAD experience is a plus but not required.
- Must have a valid driver license and a clean driving record.
Physical Requirements: Primary work location is in the field and will require the candidate to stand for extended periods. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
