Strategic Supply Chain Manager (Contract Manufacturer) Job Overview In this job, the Strategic Supply Chain Manager will be developing and managing the strategic sourcing of Contract Manufacturer (CM) service providers to meet the business needs of SDG including cost targets and cost reduction, lead time management, material availability for NPI and mass production, supply continuity and risk mitigation, supplier evaluation, selection and performance. Responsibilities and Duties - Develop and manage CM sourcing strategy that aligns technology and business requirements with CM capabilities.
- Own and manage overall commercial relationships with CM including supplier performance, capability development, cost and quality improvements.
- Manage contract negotiations, cost targets, lead time, materials availability and supply chain risk mitigation.
- Negotiate with CMs on pricing model and develop cost reduction roadmap.
- Interface with cross-functional teams to assess current and future manufacturing service requirements.
- Work closely with Engineering to influence design decision and manufacturing processes for supply chain flexibility and manufacturability.
- Work closely with Strategic Commodity team to implement the component sourcing strategies at CMs.
- Continually identify and implement new opportunities for cost savings and avoidance.
- Monitor current supply chain market conditions to identify challenges and develop continuity plan.
- Advise management on global supply chain challenges, risk, pricing trend which could impact business.
Qualifications - BA degree or BS degree from an accredited college or university.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in managing CM and its supply chain deliverables.
- Knowledge of outsource manufacturing service models.
- Knowledge of hardware manufacturing operations disciplines.
- Proven CM management experience and capable to work with cross-functional teams.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Background working PDM tools (Arena or Agile) and ERP systems.
- Must be detailed oriented, analytical, process savvy and adaptable to business needs.
