Job description
Position Overview: The Commercial Revit Designer (Structural Design) will be responsible for creating detailed architectural and structural designs for commercial projects using Revit software. This role requires a strong background in structural engineering, as well as proficiency in Revit and other structural design tools. The Commercial Revit Designer will collaborate closely with architects, engineers, and project managers to develop innovative and cost-effective design solutions that meet client needs and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Architectural and Structural Design:
- Develop detailed architectural and structural designs for commercial buildings, including retail, office, and mixed-use developments.
- Collaborate with architects and engineers to integrate structural elements into overall building designs.
- Ensure designs comply with building codes, zoning regulations, and industry standards.

Revit Modeling and Documentation:
- Create 3D models and construction documents using Revit software, including plans, sections, and elevations.
- Coordinate Revit models with architectural and MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) disciplines.
- Perform clash detection and resolve coordination issues to optimize design efficiency.

Structural Analysis and Design Software:
- Conduct structural analysis and design using software such as SAP2000, ETABS, or similar tools.
- Design structural elements, including beams, columns, slabs, and foundations, to meet project requirements.
- Ensure structural integrity and safety of building designs through rigorous analysis and testing.

Collaboration and Coordination:
- Work closely with project teams, including architects, engineers, and consultants, to coordinate design efforts and resolve design conflicts.
- Participate in design reviews, meetings, and coordination sessions to ensure alignment with project goals and objectives.
- Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders to ensure clarity and consistency in design deliverables.

Quality Assurance and Compliance:
- Review and verify design calculations, drawings, and specifications to ensure accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
- Perform quality control checks on Revit models and construction documents to identify errors or discrepancies.
- Assist in resolving design-related issues during construction and provide technical support as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related field.
- 7+ years of experience in architectural and structural design, with a focus on commercial projects.
- Proficiency in Revit software for architectural and structural modeling and documentation.
- Experience with structural analysis and design software such as SAP2000, ETABS, or similar tools.
- Strong understanding of building codes, zoning regulations, and industry standards.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
