Job description
JOB SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for safely and efficiently supplying the plant with packaging and raw materials. This includes removing finished goods and placing them in stock, loading and unloading trucks, and tracking the movement of all materials in the process.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supply plant with packaging and raw materials
- Load and unload trucks
- Stacking pallets in various types of racking in a neat and proficient manner
- Remove finished goods from production and place in storage and/or stock
- Receive inbound shipments
- Perform inventory counts
- Basic housekeeping of the warehouse
- Train new warehouse personnel
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Must be able to lift, carry, and stack 20–50-pound boxes repeatedly during the shift
- Push and pull up to 100 lbs. at times during the shift
- Safe operation of forklift truck in congested areas
- Perform transactions on computer with high level of accuracy
- Involves repetitive motion of hands and arms for extended periods of time
- Regular use of ladders
- Must be able to professionally interact with various departments, customers, and carriers
- Must be able to learn operation and troubleshooting of robotic palletizers
- Must have ability to work under time pressure and perform several tasks at the same time
- Must be able to work with number, keeping orderly and accurate records
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must have valid driver’s license
- Must possess (or be able to develop) a high degree of forklift operation skills
- Must be trainable to operate tractors and move trailers around yard and into truck bays
- Must have basic computer operation skills
- Prior warehouse experience preferred
- Demonstrated record of good attendance and ability to follow company policy and procedures
