We are looking for:
The Senior Environmental Analyst conducts environmental permitting analysis with multiple federal and state environmental agencies such as the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. This includes complex permitting analysis for large scale utility projects such as solar, wind, and battery deployments, as well as other areas of the utility business. They will assess current processes and make recommendations to develop new procedures to mitigate risk and ensure compliance with applicable environmental laws and regulations. Analysis includes, but are not limited to, environmental permit reviews, environmental feasibility studies, cost/benefit analysis, environmental compliance analysis, budget analysis and compliance reporting.

The successful candidate will be expected to work in a hybrid status of reporting to our headquarters in Jackson, MI every Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday with home office flexibility on Wednesday and Friday.
We encourage you to apply if you have:
Bachelor’s degree in environmental management, resource development, science, or related field with four (4) or more years of applicable experience
[OR]Associate’s degree in environmental management, resource development, science, or related field with eight (8) or more years of applicable experience
[OR]High School Diploma with twelve (12) or more years of applicable experience
Experience in permitting projects with EGLE, Michigan DNR, USFWS, USEPA, USACE and others as it relates to regulated waters, critical dunes, threatened and endangered species, NPDES, Part 22, Part 615, etc.
In this role, you will:
Ensure that environmental data collection and reporting is carried out in accordance with company policy and state and federal regulations. This role will oversee lower-level analyst data reporting for accuracy.
Assist in the development of and monitor operational processes and perform analysis as it relates to environmental regulations.
Performs complex assignments of larger scale to analysis processes and procedures and provide data to leadership for action.
Analyze and make recommendations to management regarding the budget.
Ensure data collection for internal and external reporting.
Performs tasks designed to resolve specific issues.
Other non-essential duties as assigned or may be necessary.
