Job description

Privately-owned manufacturer of custom blended products used in personal care, sanitary maintenance and industrial cleaning markets is seeking an entry level Formulation / Quality Assurance Lab Technician.  The Lab Tech reports to the Technical Director and will split their time between the Formulation Lab and the Quality Assurance Lab.  

Formulation responsibilities include preparing and testing new formulations.  These formulations include personal care, pet care and cleaning products.   Quality Assurance responsibilities include laboratory testing of manufactured liquids per written SOPs and Good Manufacturing Practices.   This testing includes micro testing, stability and gluten testing on finished products and raw materials, dish washing, and physical testing to ensure that all products meet quality, regulatory and safety standards.  

Job responsibilities include:  

• Prepare lab batches of formulas provided by Chemists
• Perform formula stability testing
• Input and maintenance of test records
• Micro testing of bulk batches and finished goods
• Gluten testing of finished goods and raw materials
• Accurately and consistently follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Inspection Procedures, Test Methods and verbal instructions
• Maintain accurate written records and sample libraries
• Place products on hold when deviations are detected
• Replenish lab supplies when needed
• Maintain lab cleanliness by washing dishes, countertops and floors
• Other duties as assigned. 

Skills / Qualifications: 

• High school diploma is required, Bachelor’s Degree in chemistry or related field is preferred
• Experience in a laboratory setting and/or food production environment is preferred
• Strong verbal and writing skills
• Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Learn new tasks with ease

Full-time position (part-time option is available), $ 18-24 /per hour DOE
