Position Location: Carmel, IN; Eagan, MN; Little Rock, AR; or Remote
Are you a subject matter expert in complex tariff and transmission rate development issues? Would you like to use that knowledge to be a part of the decision making for major MISO initiatives such as JTIQ and LRTP that shape the grid of the future? MISO is looking for a Rate Design Advisor that can use their existing experience and knowledge of Formula Rates to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders and take transmission rates from design to implementation. This advisor can take lessons learned from previous experience to offer ideas and influence the direction taken for large transmission projects that enable MISO to remain at the forefront of the evolving needs of our grid, while balancing the interests of multiple parties.
In one year as a Rate Design Advisor , you will know you’re successful if you are:
A point person regarding rate design for MISO initiatives.
Serving as a Subject Matter Expert for complex tariff and transmission rate development issues.
A developing expert in BPM, Calculation Guide and Tariff Language; drafts updates and changes.
Using broad understanding of industry and customer segments to anticipate outcomes and represent MISO transmission pricing position.
Beginning to act as a mentor to others on the team to support their development of knowledge and analytical skills.
A successful candidate will have at least a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Engineering, or related field; and at least six years of closely related industry experience.
Our ideal candidate has extensive experience in transmission rates at the transmission owner or ISO level, is comfortable with public speaking and presentation, and has general skills in Customer Service, Data Analysis, and Finance.
Appropriate level will be determined based upon experience and knowledge.
