Job description
Controller Overview Work closely with the company President while performing financial forecasting, cash flow analysis, financial modeling, and maintaining the books for Vertical Builders. Responsibilities: Controller Responsibilities: • Prepare monthly financials for review • Collaborate with President on financial Strategy, forecasting revenue and expenses • Establish the operating budget for the company. • Analyze budget variances and initiate corrective actions • Prepare special reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends • Review approved subcontractor billing for accuracy • Approve POs for payment • Perform bank reconciliation for each account • Credit card statement review and reconciliation • Provide Job Profitability reports to President and Production Manager • Track and record customer deposits, payments, and construction draws • Record Closing Statements • Fill out Business License Applications • Ensure new subcontractors complete all necessary paperwork required to work for Vertical Builders • Prepare for Insurance Audits (General Liability and Workman’s Comp) Qualifications: Controller Skills and Qualifications: • Microsoft Office Skills • Financial Analysis • Problem-Solving • Attention to detail • Strong Organizational Skills Controller Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required • Experience in construction accounting preferred but not required • Knowledge of appropriate software including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook • Mathematical aptitude and attention to detail • Strong organizational and time management abilities About Company: Vertical Builders is a fast-paced, growing home builder in the Richmond region.
