Job Summary

This role is a Research Technician who provides daily task support to T&O Fungicide R&D group for implementing product development studies/trials in field and under controlled environment. This is an in-person role based on a research facility.
Job Description
- Under the supervision of a Fungicide Research Biologist, assist in conducting of field trials and greenhouse studies in the subject of disease management for Turf & Ornamental market.
- Assist in preparing, implementing, and maintaining fungicide trials in field plots, greenhouses, and growth chambers.
- Grow and maintain turfgrass and ornamental plants in greenhouses to support successful implementation of fungicide plant tolerance and efficacy screenings.
- Assist in inspecting and maintaining fungicide sample inventories onsite to meet safety and compliance requirements.
- Provide key support towards Fungicide Research Biologist in operating and maintaining a plant pathology laboratory for purifying, propagating, and preserving fungal inoculants for R&D use.
- Assist with entering, documenting, and maintaining data and photo assets associated with all onsite fungicide studies/trials.
Skills Required
- Experience in working with turfgrass and ornamental plants.
- Basic knowledgeable in turfgrass and pests’ identification.
- Attention for details with ability to recognize and communicate observations, discoveries, or anomalies as related to plant science studies.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions.
- Carry out daily responsibilities individually or collaborating with team members.
- Be able to perform R&D related physical work in greenhouses and field settings.
- Basic computer skills with Windows and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, & Teams).
- Preference:
- 1-3 years of experience working in lawn care, golf course, landscape and/or nursery settings.
- Certified Pesticide Applicator License for North Carolina a plus, or ability to obtain within first 90 days of contracted employment.
Education/Training/Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree or associate degree in agricultural or horticultural sciences (especially but not limited to plant pathology, weed science, or entomology).
Additional Requirements
- Must successfully pass background and drug screen.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Standard hour is at 40hr/week.
- Assignment Length: 1st contract at 6 months, will be yearly renewable afterwards up to 2 to 3 years based on performance.
- Shift: 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM
