Job description
Eloah Care in Newmarket Northeast, ON is looking for one occupational therapist to join our 7 person strong team. We are located on 227 Eagle St. Our ideal candidate is self-driven, punctual, and hard-working.

Responsibilities
- Undertaking assessments of patients’ physical, communication, interaction and cognitive skills
- Planning and providing appropriate treatment and activities
- Organising adaptations to patients’ homes or workplaces – for example, arranging for a wheelchair ramp to be installed
- Helping patients select and use new equipment
- Advising on exercises that can improve patients’ mobility or dexterity
- In addition, community occupational therapists provide support to clients to enable them to participate in social, leisure, educational and employment activities.
Qualifications
- A university degree in occupational therapy including supervised fieldwork is required.
- Completion of a national or provincial certification examination is required.
- Licensure with a regulatory body is required in all provinces and territories.
- Membership in the national association, Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists, is required in some provinces.
- Occupational therapists may obtain expertise in a particular area through additional training or experience.
