Job description

The Sonographer works under minimal supervision of the Lead US Technologist and Chief Technologists p erforming diagnostic ultrasound, biopsy procedures, and ABUS Automated Breast Ultrasound. Works effectively with patients, radiologists, and clinic personnel, assisting with PACS and comparison images. Excellent organizational skills and communication are a must. The Sonographer position is a dedicated to our Breast Sonography only. A candidate with previous breast experience in mammography and/or breast ultrasonography preferred but not required. 

 

The Sonographer will rotate between Fayetteville and Bentonville.  Occasional coverage may be needed at the Harrison location.

 

Willingness to train in Mammography is encouraged.

• Perform diagnostic sonogram procedures as required: achieve a high level of image quality
• Be observant for artifacts and keep them to a minimum
• Obtain patient history as needed
• Assist Radiologists and mammographers during procedures, helping to put the patient at ease

• Graduation from a certified Radiological Technology Program and/or a certified Ultrasound program
• Plus 2 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• RDMS certification 
• RDMS in Breast Registry preferred, but not required
