Position Summary:
Gordon Food Service is hiring a Logistic Analyst . This candidate will manage supply chain functions including, but not limited to, purchase orders, trucking, and delivery of domestic and international shipments. Responsible for inventory management, reporting, customer service and working with NA Imports and Commodities team to execute buys. Supports operations and collaborates with others across all areas of the business. Helps sustain customer experience, forecasting, inventory and global supply chain best practices. Serves as the first line of communication with suppliers to maintain awareness of delays and shortages and keep other members of the Imports and Commodities team updated as needed.
Responsibilities:
Provides the most cost-effective, streamlined or least disruptive way to keep our customers in stock on items that we manage.
Develops and maintains good relations with vendors, carriers, internal and external customers. Collaborates with these parties to understand quality and/or service problems.
Learns about current market conditions, causal factors (weather, seasonality, etc.), and product availability to properly maintain inventory for our customers and communicates that information with other parties.
Create and Change system data to support the proper flow of transactions within ERP. This includes material, business partner, plant and dependencies.
Manages daily transactions as outlined by others including purchase orders (creation, confirmation, monitoring, late delivery resolution, expediting), shipping orders and delivery.
Assess and supports the execution of buying parameters including, but not limited to, lead time, safety stock, seasonal availability, inbound networks, Import paperwork, etc.
Develop and maintain accurate statistical forecast that incorporates market intelligence, enterprise strategy and item specific guidelines.
Responsible for monitoring and supporting department/desk KPIs.
Supports the execution of product inventory levels of perishable and non-perishable products utilizing parameters set by others.
Collaborates with others to alleviate issues on dead stock, damages, on hold or missing inventory.
Performs functions to support vendor scorecards, such as recording on time performance.
Interacts with appropriate parties including, but not limited to Marketing, Traffic, Logistics, Shipping and Receiving to ensure proper inventory flow to our customers.
Works directly with customers to resolve opportunities. (General inquiries, Expedited Orders, Returns & Product Issues, etc.).
Maintains a relationship with public storage facilities and addresses shortages and damaged product. Identifies best practices and continuous improvement.
Executes projects including, but not limited to, new items, vendor transitions, forward buys, etc.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge of International import laws, government regulations and supply chain principles and techniques including methods for moving goods by air, rail, sea, or road, including the relative costs and benefits.
Interpersonal and negotiation skills
Experience:
Minimum of two years previous Logistics or supply chain experience with analytical abilities and working knowledge of the supplier community and the food service

Hybrid Schedule 3 days in office 2 days remote
Monday to Friday
8 am to 5 pm
