Responsibilities:
- Conduct research and draft pleadings, briefs, and motions
- Provide guidance and advice to associate attorneys and paralegals to resolve or prevent conflicts
- Draft legal documents, such as pleadings, motions, notices, and discovery requests and responses
- Argue motions in court on behalf of clients during legal proceedings
- Stay updated on changing applicable laws and statutes on the local, state, and federal levels
- Provide technical analysis and prepare explanatory memoranda for various estate, gift, and generation-skipping planning issues
- Review legal documentation for accuracy and conformity to planning objectives
- Analyze existing and proposed estate and gift tax planning to determine risks and benefits and recommend alternatives
- Assist in the drafting of legal documents necessary for the execution of planning transactions
Qualifications:
- Persuasive writing skills and verbal communication skills are critical, along with time management and interpersonal skills
- Active member in good standing with local and state bar associations
- Previous experience advocating for clients in trials, mediation, and arbitration
- Able to work independently while handling multiple files
- Five years of experience as a senior associate in the legal industry
