Job description
Under supervision of the Electric Generation Systems Specialist III of the Flexible Demand Appliance Standards Unit in the Load Flexibility Branch of the Efficiency Division, the incumbent is responsible for work of average difficulty in a wide variety of consultative and analytical energy assignments in the field of standards development that enable appliances to shift load and flex demand. The Flexible Demand Appliance Standards Unit has primary responsibility over the Flexible Demand Appliance Standards.

The CEC supports a hybrid workplace model with office-based and remote-centered workers. Limited in-person attendance and occasional travel may be required based on the needs of the division. Regular and consistent attendance is essential to successful performance. This position is remote-centered, which means the incumbent works 50 percent or more of their time from an alternate work location.

• Ability to managing projects utilizing project management principles.
• Knowledge of appliance standards and load flex capabilities and opportunities.
• Knowledge of scientific and engineering fields, analytical methods, modeling, and research techniques to resolve complex and policy sensitive issues and technical problems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills preferred.
• Ability to use Microsoft Office 365 suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams, and Planner), Zoom, and internet browsers.
• Ability to join meetings by Teams and Zoom video.
