Job description
Strategic ACI is looking for a Climate Security Program Manager to lead a team of Climate Subject Matter Experts and Geospatial Analysts in support of the Army Geospatial Center (AGC). Qualified candidates will support a team with researching and developing new capabilities to understand the influencing factors for Climate Security implications, to include impacts on military logistics, operations, and mission planning. This position is anticipated to be available for placement in the future.
Responsibilities :
- Provide direction and leadership to hybrid team comprised of government and contractor Geospatial Analysts, Researchers, and Climate Security Subject Matter Experts.
- Develop multi-year Research and Development plan complete with decision milestones and transition timelines identified, following a Technology Readiness Level (TRL) maturation process.
- Conduct technical presentations to stakeholders and potential customers.
Qualifications: Required :
- Active Secret Clearance.
- Bachelor's degree in in Meteorology, Oceanography, Geography, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 15 or more years related work experience in Meteorology, Climatology, Oceanography, Geography, engineering, computer science, or related engineering discipline.
- Passionate about weather and climate.
- Experience working with or supporting DoD.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Willingness to learn, solve problems and perform in a dynamic work environment.
Desired :
- Experience supporting EUCOM, AFRICOM, and/or CENTCOM.
- Familiarity with Arctic region.
- Knowledge of ice and snow impacts, specifically to port operations.
- Familiarity with military logistics (overland routing, mobility of rail networks, etc.).
