Bilio is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented intern to join our team as a Material Librarian or Archivist. This is a full-time, paid position that will provide valuable experience and professional development in the field of library or archival science, with a focus on soft goods materials.

A Bilio Material Librarian or Archivist - Soft Goods - Responsibilities:

• Assist with the organization and maintenance of material collections.
• Assist with the creation of inventories and other descriptive tools.
• Provide reference and research assistance to material culture users.
• Participate in collection development and management activities.
• Assist with outreach and engagement activities to promote material culture services and collections.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Preferred Experience

There are no specific requirements for the application, though the following qualifications are preferred:

• Currently enrolled in a library or archival science program or recent graduate with a focus on material culture or a related field
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of material culture best practices and standards
• Familiarity with material culture databases and software
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Interest in working with diverse material culture collections and communities.
