Job description
We're currently looking for a dedicated Shipping and Receiving Clerk to join our team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the efficient operation of our shipping and receiving department, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring our products reach our customers safely and on time.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Utilize lift trucks or hand trucks to transport materials within the warehouse.
- Operate stretch wrap machines to secure shipments.
- Ensure outgoing mail is palletized according to USPS regulations.
- Receive, inspect, and document incoming shipments, noting discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate logs of products and their locations within the warehouse on our intranet.
- Execute necessary computer operations for tracking inventory, shipments, and receipts.
- Liaise with carriers to troubleshoot any delivery issues.
- Coordinate pick-ups with carriers as per shipping instructions.
- Identify and report any defective materials or concerning conditions to the supervisor.
- Keep the work area and equipment tidy and comply with safety standards.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- This role requires standing, walking, and sitting; handling objects, tools, or controls; and reaching with hands and arms.
- Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs.
- Involves assembling boxes and skids and repetitive motions.
- The work environment typically has a moderate noise level.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Forklift operation certification or willingness to be trained.
