Essential Duties/Responsibilities : - This sales position is responsible for business development in all Market Segments in Louisiana.
- Must have a minimum of 4 years soliciting the market segments listed above and possess a proven track record being highly successful in exceeding sales goals.
- Must possess a strong drive and business acumen to effectively sell and discern the best revenue opportunities for the overall property. Must understand the importance of yielding business to choose and target the most profitable transient, gaming and group opportunities based on the day of week, pattern and seasonality.
- Must have a good understanding of the destination appeal of Lake Charles and understand the strengths and weaknesses of our primary competition within the city and state as compared to Golden Nugget Lake Charles.
- Meet or exceed set goals by designing and implementing a strategic and comprehensive SMART Plan to aggressively grow business in assigned market.
- Must possess strong sales & negotiation skills coupled with a genuine passion for the hospitality industry, sales process and customer service.
- Possess an excellent ability to build rapport with clients and willingness to participate in client entertainment/ FAM’s lunches, tours and site inspections at the property as needed to build awareness and grow revenues.
- Assist in implementing special promotions relating to direct sales segments.
- Effectively use property's computerized sales management system, Delphi, to manage the hotel's group business, including (but not limited to) blocking rooms and space, generating contracts, sales activities, building accounts and generating reports correctly.
- Meet and greet onsite contacts as needed.
- Be an excellent and efficient manager of selling time to generate the greatest return on all sales efforts.
- Develop a complete knowledge of company sales and booking policies.
- Aggressively pursue any and all additional markets that may be assigned by the Director of Sales as needed.
- Exhibit conduct in accordance with all Gaming Commission Regulations, Federal and State laws and regulations, and Golden Nugget and departmental policies and procedures.
- Consistently deliver positive, courteous and professional guest service in all interactions with guests, visitors, vendors and fellow employees.
- Prepares and maintains tour group contracts, files, records, correspondence and reports to ensure compliance with established departmental policies and procedures.
- Communicates and coordinates with other department personnel to ensure quality guest service.
- Stay abreast of current trends and practices within area of responsibility and communicate pertinent information to management, peers, direct reports and employees as appropriate.
- Promote positive public/employee relations at all times.
- Maintain a clean, safe, hazard-free work environment within area of responsibility.
- Safeguard the confidential information of all employee, department and company records.
- Demonstrate a commitment to ensuring responsible gaming and responsible alcohol service by discreetly notifying appropriate management of concerns and observations.
- Ensure prompt and discrete notification to senior management and/or the Ethics Hotline of any observation of illegal acts and/or internal ethics violations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements: - Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Hotel Management.
- Minimum of five years Hotel/Travel Sales & Marketing.
- Planning: an ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent sales and negotiation skills, business and market development, market research.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills including presentations skills.
- Must possess superior written and oral communications skills.
Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
Must have solid decision-making, organization, and interpersonal skills. Excellent verbal communication skills are required. The ability to thrive in a fast-paced multi-tasking, hands-on environment. Ability to establish and maintain a positive and professional working relationships with all individuals. Must have basic skills in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook. Ability to work occasional overtime and irregular hours.
