Objective
The FP&A Expense Lead will play a critical role in the financial planning and analysis function, focusing on expense management for our high-growth subscription software business. This individual will be responsible for driving insightful analysis, forecasting, and reporting on expenses, providing key stakeholders with actionable insights to support decision-making and financial strategy.
Responsibilities:
1. Expense Forecasting and Budgeting:
- Support monthly, quarterly and year-end closing activities for Americas business segment in conjunction and collaboration with the Controllership team.
- Lead the creation of comprehensive expense forecasts and budgets, collaborating with cross-functional teams to gather pertinent information.
- Analyze historical expense trends, incorporating market dynamics to ensure accurate and realistic budgeting.
2. Variance Analysis:
- Conduct detailed variance analysis to compare actual expenses against budgeted and forecasted figures.
- Collaborate with business partners to interpret and articulate variances, providing actionable insights for optimizing costs.
3. Financial Modeling:
- Develop and maintain sophisticated financial models to support strategic decision-making on expense management.
- Evaluate different scenarios, assessing the financial impact of various business initiatives.
4. KPI Development and Tracking:
- Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to expense management, providing regular updates on performance against targets.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to refine and enhance KPIs based on evolving business needs.
5. Expense Reporting:
- Prepare and present timely, accurate financial reports related to expenses for executive leadership and key stakeholders.
- Implement dashboards and KPIs to monitor expense trends, providing strategic insights for continuous improvement.
6. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate with various departments, including Marketing, Operations and Sales, to understand the drivers behind expenses and provide financial insights.
- Act as a finance business partner, offering guidance on cost optimization, resource allocation, and KPI improvement.
7. Process Improvement:
- Continuously assess and improve FP&A processes related to expense management, driving efficiency and accuracy.
- Implement best practices to streamline reporting, analysis functions, and KPI tracking.

REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA or advanced certification (e.g., CFA, CPA) is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive achievement in financial planning and analysis, preferably in a high-growth subscription software or technology-driven environment.
- Proven track record in developing and tracking KPIs, demonstrating the ability to enhance financial performance.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, conveying financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
- Advanced proficiency in financial modeling and Excel; experience with financial planning software is a plus.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and meeting deadlines.
