Job description
GENERAL DUTIES:
- Conduct effective provisioning, installation and configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure.
- Develop and maintain system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures that adhere to organizational values best practices.
- Assist operations and development staff with technical issues.
- Participate in planning for future development through the definition of needs, benefits, and technical strategy, and support of operations staff in executing, testing, and deployment of solutions.
- Perform daily system monitoring and verify integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems.
- Provide support to key processes, review system and application logs, and verify completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5+ years of experience with Systems Administration or System Engineering
- Experience building, maintaining or configuring services, settings, directories, or storage for servers
- Experience developing or maintaining installation and configuration procedures
- Experience with regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions
- Experience with backup and recovery operations in accordance with appropriate organizational standards
- Ability to apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis and upgrade administrative tools and utilities
- Ability to build new or rebuild existing server instances
- Ability to coordinate and communicate with impacted constituencies
- Ability to obtain a security clearance
- Bachelor's degree

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience with cloud operations
- Knowledge of Linux, Oracle Database concepts
- Ability to configure CPU, memory, and disk partitions as required
- Ability to perform periodic performance reporting to support capacity planning
- Ability to maintain operational, configuration, or other procedures
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or Computer Science
