Job description
Revolution Roasters in Oceanside, CA is looking for a baker to join our pastry team. This position will require commitment to a early morning schedule. Shifts begin at 3am. Our ideal candidate works quickly and efficiently without sacrificing quality, is very dependable and self-motivated. This position requires an individual that is passionate about this industry and dedicated to investing their time and energy as we continue to grow as a company.
We take our craft seriously here at Revolution Roasters, which is evident in our pastry program. House-made pastries for a cafe is incredibly unique and something we take great pride in. We use our expertise to create the best quality baked goods, with quarterly menu changes and seasonal influence. We work diligently and with resilience to coordinate our daily responsibilities and uphold the procedures that ensure we deliver the high-quality products our guests love.

Responsibilities
- Execute the bake-off of all pastries
- Operate ovens and proofers, decorate all pastries to Revo standards set by the Pastry Chef and work quickly to finish all items by the set time
- Complete daily prep of high volume bakery products consistently and without sacrificing quality
- Measure and weigh ingredients accurately
- Prepare frostings and glazes, as well as dough and other pastry items including lamination and croissant shaping
- Prepare product for the next day’s bake-off
- Exhibit excellent time management skills
- Maintain clean and sanitary work environment and station on a daily basis
- Package orders for second cafe delivery
Qualifications
- Able to lift 50+ pounds and stand comfortably for 8 hours
- 1 year experience working in pastry or similar role
- Experience with laminated pastries and proofing is preferred
- Dedicated to working with a team towards one goal
- Attention to detail in all aspects of the kitchen area
- Highly adaptable to various situations and stress levels
- Committed to a early morning work schedule, including holidays, and weekends
- Extremely reliable, can consistently maintain a schedule with early call times and ensure punctual attendance and work performance regardless of the early hours
