Job description

Summary: The Speech Language Pathologist provides services to adult and/or pediatric populations with speech, language, cognitive, communication, developmental, and voice disorders. Speech therapy can be extremely rewarding because you have the opportunity to help people regain some level of independence. Responsibilities:
-Awareness and response to various stimuli, environments, and daily tasks.
-Comprehension of verbal, non-verbal, and written language, symbols, gestures, and/or communication contexts.
-Ability to express needs, thoughts, feelings, emotions, and opinions through verbal and/or non-verbal methods.
-Problem solving, orientation, memory, attention, planning, and organization.
-Specialized equipment such as augmentative devices, speaking valves, and/or auditory/visual aids.
-Oral and pharyngeal muscle strength, activity tolerance, tone, and coordination.
-Swallow maneuvers and techniques.
-Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
-Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) standards.
-Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
-Enhances practice reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

Requirements:
-Master's Degree or equivalent as recognized by the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA) in Speech/Language Pathology
-Maintain valid state Speech Language Therapy License is required
-Superior Verbal Communication, Patient Services, Health Care Administration, Teamwork, Use of Medical Technologies, Bedside Manner, Dependability, Health Promotion and Maintenance
-Must possess intermediate computer skills
-Therapy services leadership and delegation experience
