About the School of Integrative Plant Science

The CALS School of Integrative of Plant Science (SIPS) is composed of five sections: Horticulture, Plant Biology, Plant Breeding and Genetics, Plant Pathology and Plant-Microbe Biology, and Soil and Crop Sciences. Combined there are 100-plus faculty, 120 undergraduate students, 200-plus graduate students in five fields, 30-plus graduate students in the MPS program, and 600-plus other employees located in Ithaca, Geneva, and other locations across New York State. The school offers multidisciplinary undergraduate majors in Plant Sciences and Agricultural Sciences. In addition to these two programs, school faculty teach and advise in the Biology, Biology and Society, Global Development, and Viticulture and Enology majors.

The Opportunity

The Undergraduate Program Coordinator plays a pivotal role in providing programming, advising, and curriculum support for the Plant Sciences major within the School of Integrative Plant Science (SIPS). This position collaborates closely with various stakeholders including the director of undergraduate studies (DUS), Associate Director of Teaching (ADOT), Student Services Lead (SSL), and the Plant Sciences Curriculum Committee (PSCC) to ensure the smooth operation of the program. The incumbent will manage administrative operations related to curriculum, undergraduate advising, course management, and development.

Key Responsibilities:

This is a full-time, Contract College position that is based in Ithaca, NY. This position follows a 3:2 campus-to-home hybrid work arrangement. This hybrid schedule is subject to change at any time. Typical work hours are 8am-4:30pm Monday through Thursday and 8am-3:30pm on Fridays. There may be occasional weeknight or weekend hours to support department events.
