Position Summary 

The Logistics Coordinator plays a crucial role in planning and executing the storage and movement of finished products or services efficiently. Their primary responsibility is to ensure shipments reach end users by streamlining processes, cutting costs, and eliminating unnecessary steps.

Success in this role requires a focus on safety, attention to detail, good time management, and leadership skills. The Logistics Coordinator needs to be adept at independent problem-solving and troubleshooting, with consistent attendance being a key factor. They should be able to follow instructions, both written and verbal, and work well alone or as part of a team.

In managing day-to-day operations in the Shipping and Receiving departments, the Logistics Coordinator might need to step in and perform tasks if their team is unable to do so. This hands-on approach adds flexibility and contributes to the role's overall effectiveness.

Essential duties for the candidate :

• Is responsible for coordinating all shipping-related functions, including inbound, outbound, ocean, and airfreight.
• Some of the essential duties include creating forecast shipments based on sales projections, negotiating pricing contracts with freight companies, requesting monthly ocean freight quotes per container (using the template),
• completing all shipping documentation and coordinating with project managers to ensure shipping schedules are met for customers.
• It is also important to keep the cost within the budget by referring to the estimate sheet and finding ways to minimize expenses.
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications : 

• Minimum 3-5 years of a proven track record of logistics coordination
• Technical aptitude, attention to detail, and excellent follow-up
• Microsoft Office skills: Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Highly motivated, driven, and self-starting
• Excellent time management & organizational / networking skills
• Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of staff
