Assistant Rank - $236,278 - $311,064
Associate Rank - $285,044 - $352,095
Full Rank - $329,947 - $431,357 The VA salary ranges (to be negotiated directly with VA) for this position are: $100,000-$250,000. This position includes membership in the Health Sciences Compensation plan .


The Division of Malignant Hematology/ Cellular Therapy and Transplantation, Department of Internal Medicine, at the University of California, Davis, School of Medicine, is seeking an applicant for a jointly appointed academic position at the Assistant, Associate or full Professor level in the Clinical X or Health Sciences Clinical Professor series. Faculty in the Clinical X series is expected to engage in professional competence and activity, teaching, research and creative work, and University/public service. Faculty in the Health Sciences Clinical Professor series are expected to engage in teaching, professional competence and activity, scholarly or creative activities, and University/public service.

This position will be jointly appointed at the Mather VA Health Care System, with 50% appointment at UC Davis Health and 50% at Mather VA. Responsibilities include direct inpatient and outpatient clinical care; teaching medical students, residents, and fellows; and university/ public service. Appointee will focus on clinical care and research related to hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT), cellular and gene therapy, hematologic malignancy, and/or immunology related to graft versus host or graft versus tumor effects. The final candidate is expected to become a leader in the design, conduct, and analysis of early phase clinical trials aimed to improve the care of cancer patients in the context of a well-established clinical research program. Clinical patient care is required and will include supervision of medical students, residents, and fellows in primarily inpatient, and also outpatient settings. The chosen physician will join a strong clinical and translational academic program within the NCI-designated UC Davis Comprehensive Cancer Center, which includes phase I-III clinical trials, investigator-initiated studies, as well as ongoing interactions with other cancer specialists.

The salary ranges provided are based on full-time employment and will be prorated for part-time employment.

The division has eight faculty, 11 NP's, six staff, and operates a large and diverse clinical and research program. The division is a strong component of the NCI-designated UC Davis Comprehensive Cancer Center and has a strong presence in developmental therapeutics with an Experimental Therapeutics Clinical Trials Network (ETCTN) grant and as a Lead Academic Participating Site (LAPS) with the NCI National Clinical Trials Network. The division research portfolio is particularly broad and spans laboratory-based early translation to population sciences and health disparities. The UC Davis School of Medicine is in the top quarter of US medical schools for NIH funding and one of the inaugural Clinical and Translational Award sites.
