Position Summary:
The Infection Prevention Coordinator 3 is an experienced professional responsible for program development and coordination with patient care delivery programs. Incumbent ensures compliance with The Joint Commission, CMS, CalOSHA, and Title 22 standards/regulations. The Infection Prevention Coordinator collaborates on performance improvement goals and oversees surveillance, assessment, control, and prevention of infections in patients, employees, and visitors. The emphasis of this position is on education and consultation regarding infection control practices, collection, and presentation of information regarding epidemiological investigations and emergence of multiple drug resistant organisms/emerging pathogens. This position will provide infection prevention consultation, monitoring, and reporting to inpatient and ambulatory locations.

Salary Range:
Annual Rate Minimum $90,500.00 Midpoint $130,100.00 Maximum $169,700.00
Required Qualifications:
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
Three (3) + years related experience in infection prevention in a healthcare or public health setting
Bachelor's degree in health-related field and/or equivalent combination of experience/training
Thorough knowledge of clinical and operational issues in infection control principles, regulatory guidelines, investigation methodologies, data collection, epidemiology, microbiology, patient care, and related issues
Strong analytical and data management skills with the ability to identify trends, analyze data, and implement evidence-based interventions
Proven ability to conduct apparent cause analysis, utilize investigation methodologies, and effectively contribute to studies, investigations, reports, and presentations
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with various stakeholders and work productively in a team environment
Demonstrated ability to develop new infection control protocols and policies and build and maintain a climate of trust inspiring commitment from others to engage in infection control initiatives
Knowledge of healthcare regulatory standards (e.g., The Joint Commission, CMS) and their impact on infection prevention
Demonstrated strong public speaking and interpersonal communication skills
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and proven ability to effectively manage time and prioritize tasks
Demonstrated ability to serve as an information resource, providing advice and recommendations on complex issues
Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
Consistently interacts with all members of the organization in ways that enhance understanding, respect, cooperation and problem solving
Demonstrated experience and thorough working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and database applications
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's Degree
Current RN License
Certification in Infection Control
Knowledge of UC policies and procedures
Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
