The Opportunity
The Human Resources Manager is responsible for designing, planning, and implementing human resources programs and policies. The HR Manager acts as the central resource to management and staff with a strong emphasis on talent management, compensation, benefits, employee relations, employee engagement, company culture development, training and development and health and safety. This individual works closely with the leadership team on various EOS initiatives.
Hours: Part-time, 15-25 hours per week
Work Location: Hybrid, at least 3 days in-office per week
The qualified candidate will:
- Serve as first point of contact for general employee issues and questions
- Provide coaching for managers and leadership on employee relations issues to ensure situations are handled effectively
- Manage and support other HR team members
- Coordinate performance management process by providing support on completing effective reviews and promoting a continual feedback methodology for all employees
- Ensure effective communication to all employees on corporate policies and practices
- Manage company-wide recruiting efforts -- manage any external vendor partners and/or assist with candidate selection
- Maintain work structure by updating job descriptions (i.e. Roles & Responsibilities) and requirements for all roles within the organization
- Lead and evaluate compensation and benefit programs while ensuring they remain competitive
- Assist with the development and roll-out of training and development and health and safety programs
- Identify legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resource functions and ensure policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance
- Coordinate special events and projects as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
- Minimum 7-10 years work experience working in the HR function (Professional services environment a plus)
- PHR, SPHR, or SHRM certification desirable
- Excellent communication, listening, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Competence to build and manage interpersonal relationships and trust at all levels
- Knowledge of labor laws and HR best practices
- Ability to handle confidential information
- Detail oriented with extensive problem solving and critical thinking skills
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Work is primarily performed in an office environment
- Ability to occasionally move equipment/objects weighing up to 10 pounds
