Job description
Reporting directly to the Controller the Staff Accountant plays a pivotal role in maintaining accurate financial records to monitor the companys financial activities including assets liabilities profits tax obligations and related matters.

- Bachelors degree (BA or BS) in Accounting from a fouryear college or university.
- Five (5) years of experience in Accounting or Finance.
- At least two (2) years of experience in Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
- Proficiency meeting the required competency level.

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct reconciliations of general ledger accounts to ensure data accuracy and rectify any identified errors.
- Execute monthend close processes promptly and accurately as assigned.
- Prepare analyze and present financial trends and information to management.
- Complete annual working papers for CPA review/audit company appraisal and ESOP Administration.
- Serve as backup for the Accounting Specialist when necessary.
- Update the companys forecast software under the guidance of the Controller.
- Identify potential costsaving opportunities through financial trend analysis.
- Review verify and upload payroll reports into the ERP system.
- Process new fixed assets in the FAS software and maintain associated records for accurate recording of purchases.
- Keep longterm debt worksheets updated and current.
- Conduct inventory reconciliations for spot checks and cycle counts providing analytical insights to the Controller and Inventory Control Specialist.
Key Responsibilities: Administer bi-weekly payroll including analyzing and inputting data such as garnishments, leave accruals, and deductions. Oversee the recruitment process, collaborating with managers to identify, interview, and onboard qualified candidates. Participate in disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations as needed. Implement and maintain HR policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. Coordinate meetings to educate employees on benefits and distribute necessary notices. Develop and maintain affirmative action programs and ensure compliance with EEO regulations. Compile and submit OSHA and worker\'s compensation reports annually. Handle employee relations matters, escalating complex issues to the Senior HR Manager. Conduct stay and exit interviews, maintaining trend data for retention strategies. Manage accurate employee records in HRIS and other databases. Qualifications: Bachelor\'s degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Business, or a related field. Minimum of five (5) years of experience in HR Generalist or similar roles, with specific experience in California. Three (3) years of payroll processing experience required. Proficiency with HRIS systems; Kronos experience is advantageous. Intermediate knowledge of California Wage & Hour laws. Familiarity with FMLA regulations and other employment laws. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and project management abilities. Capability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
