Role: Peoplesoft BI Report Writer
Location: Austin, TX
Duration: 12+ Months
Responsibilities:
The data analyst/report technical writer performs highly advanced work related to client s Director of Budget and Finance team and may assist with query and report development for all CAPPS modules. This includes but is not limited to reviewing all current queries to bring them to current CAPPS standards.
The worker will provide coordination of efforts, including, but not limited to all phases of the additional report design and development, assist with UAT, and Training, as well as follow-up support.
As the CAPPS Financials Production Report writer, the worker must have a strong background in Query Development, Business Objects 3.1 or 4.0 (or higher), and have provided query data that other visualization tools like Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, and the like have utilized.
PeopleSoft and Data Warehouse technology.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Coordinating the necessary functional and technical resources when collaboration is required.
Teaching and mentoring agency staff in production reporting duties and best practices
Working with business customers to gather requirements for report development.
Developing Queries /Business Objects reports based on functional specifications for a group or organization.
Responsible for capturing business requirements to meet client s reporting needs.
Responsible for consistent use of project-standardized processes and forms, including but not limited to, Functional Design Documents, Key Design Decisions, Change Controls, Risk and Issue log, Scope Documentation, Configuration Documentation, Business Process Flows, and other project documents as needed.
Adhering to software development processes
Provide input to project management to estimate the level of effort.
Prepare detailed documentation.
Completes tasks in an efficient and timely manner while keeping project stakeholders informed.
Must be able to work with the Data Warehouse, PeopleSoft, and Agency teams to ensure reports comply with the standards and all data modeling artifacts are prepared accurately in a timely fashion.
Must also be quality-conscious and dedicated to delivering quality products on time and on budget.
Required Skills:
8 Years of Required Reporting Experience with Business Intelligence Report Writing best practices
8 Years of Required Reporting Experience with Business/System/Data Analysis and Improvement
8 Years of Required Reporting Experience with the development of various reporting mechanisms
8 Years of Required Reporting Experience with PeopleSoft
Preferred Skills:
5 Years of Preferred Proficient with the Microsoft Windows and Office products
5 Years of Preferred Public sector experience (Federal, State or Local Government)
5 Years of Preferred Experience in process or systems analysis work on any one or combination of the following PeopleSoft modules: general ledger/commitment control, purchasing/e-procurement, accounts payable, inventory, asset management, grant accounting
5 Years of Preferred PeopleSoft Financials modules implementation or post-go live experience with an emphasis on reporting activities
