Job description
First Baptist Church (FBCM) in Mooresville, NC is prayerfully searching for a senior pastor to serve as the spiritual leader of our multi-generational congregation as we seek to honor God’s vision for our church. That vision is to embody the philosophy of “Loving, Caring, Sharing Christ” within ourselves, within the church, within the Mooresville/ Lake Norman community and within the world at large.
We believe that the Bible is God’s perfect Word to us written by human authors, under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. The Bible is the basis for what we believe and the way we live, and we seek a senior pastor who believes, lives and teaches the same. In addition to leading the spiritual development of the congregation through Bible-based teaching, the senior pastor will provide pastoral care, basic administrative leadership and lead outreach to the local community and beyond with support from the ministerial staff and lay leaders of the church. It is important that the senior pastor remains accessible, approachable and engaged with the church family.
Average worship attendance is approximately two hundred, and FBCM supports over a dozen local mission organizations besides contributing to the South Yadkin Bible Association, the Baptist State Convention of NC, the Southern Baptist Cooperative Program and Cooperative Baptist Fellowship. Our church strongly supports the equal roles of men and women in leadership, including serving as deacons and on committees.
