Position description

The Berkeley School of Education (BSE) at the University of California is recruiting for a Coordinator of Public Programs position in the Center for Research on Expanding Educational Opportunity (CREEO). This position will serve as the CREEO Program Director, under the supervision of the Faculty Director, Dr. Travis Bristol. We are seeking outstanding educational leaders who can help develop and oversee innovative projects aimed at supporting our most marginalized students through leadership, teaching and program restructuring. The Center for Research on Expanding Educational Opportunity (CREEO), housed in the BSE, supports multiple programs including The National Board Certification Support Program, the Race Education and Community Healing (REACH) Network, the California Black Studies Curriculum, as well as local, state, and national policy efforts focused on diversifying the educator workforce.

CREEO's mission is to use educational research to shape policy and practice in service of creating opportunities for students and adults historically at the margins to move closer to the center.

General Duties: Coordinators of Public Programs will design, implement, and oversee the BSE Center for Research on Expanding Educational Opportunity CREEO programs and offerings in service to the educational field. They will participate with the stakeholders including state offices, district offices, international clients and the public to develop outreach and support programs in meeting targeted goals, including outreach to underrepresented communities.

Coordinators will be responsible for operational oversight of professional and operational staff, graduate students, and undergraduate students and will work closely with other staff in delivering high-quality services to eligible program participants.
