Job Description:

Title: Institutional Safety Officer III

Unit: AFSCME , Unit II

Department: Administration

Reports to: Director of Safety and Campus Operations

Date: January 9, 2024 (Reopened March 6, 2024)

General Summary: The Institutional Safety Officer III is a security professional responsible for helping to keep a peaceful and safe campus environment and is considered essential personnel. This position is responsible for protecting individuals on campus property and maintaining the security of campus buildings, facilities, parking lots, walkways, and grounds of the College. The incumbent in this position will supervise, conduct training, and assign work to contracted security officers, in conjunction with the Director of Safety and Campus Operations, of up to 6-15 contracted security personnel.

Salary Range: $46,888.66 is the annual salary for an AFSCME, Unit II, Grade 13 position (Salary rates effective 1/14/2024) . Employees of Middlesex Community College are considered employees of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and receive benefits, which include:

Location: Lowell campus with occasional travel to Bedford as needed

Hours: 40 hours per week, schedule to be determined upon hire

Expected Start Date: April 2024
