Job Summary

The Digital Humanities Lab is a new collaborative initiative between the School of Liberal Arts and Kaufman Library, providing space for teaching, learning, and research set to open on the second floor of Kaufman Library in January 2022. The lab will assist faculty and students with a wide range of Digital Humanities projects and research. The Archives of Georgia Gwinnett College, housed in Kaufman Library ( collects, preserves, exhibits, and makes available materials with lasting and historical value produced during the business of the college, documenting the history of GGC and the activities of its faculty, staff, students, and alumni. The Student Assistant will work for both projects as needed, with a primary focus on the Digital Humanities Lab.

Responsibilities
  • Provide data entry, creating records and content for the DH Lab website and the digital institutional repository
  • Assist with creating, editing, documenting, and maintaining various digital humanities projects under development through the lab
  • Scan materials for preservation and exhibition
  • Perform related work as required by interest and demand
Required Qualifications
  • Must be currently enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours at Georgia Gwinnett College
  • Must have a high school diploma or G.E.D. required
  • Must be in good academic standing and maintain good academic standing for the duration of employment
  • Must be in good conduct standing with the Office of Student Integrity and maintain good conduct for the duration of employment
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Possess strong organizational and time management skills
  • Possess basic knowledge of Windows environment, Microsoft Office, and Web browsers
  • Possess capacity to learn and perform basic archival work.
  • Demonstrated accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to work productively with minimal supervision
  • Possess an interest in history, archives, or libraries
Preferred Qualifications
  • Possess archives, digital repository, or library experience
