Job Description:

Hedges Family Estate is a family owned and operated winery on Red Mountain that promotes regenerative agriculture and biodynamic winemaking. We are seeking a motivated intern to join our team for the 2024 season. Our team is small, and interns will have the opportunity to be involved in all aspects of cellar work, vineyard work and some hospitality work.

Work you will be asked to do but not limited to:
•  Crop estimates
•  Vineyard record keeping
•  Vineyard sampling/scouting
•  Pressure bomb testing
•  Fruit processing
•  Forklift operation
•  Occasional help with events
•  Bottling line work

Candidate requirements:

•  Strong work ethic and a positive attitude
•  Ability to work long and variable hours on flexible days during harvest
•  Ability to lift 25 plus pounds, go up and down ladders, shovel tanks, grapes and various other items.
•  Reliability

Interns can expect to start as early as May and work 40 hours a week up until harvest. We can work around class schedules if necessary. During harvest, interns can be expected to work 5-6 days a week and up to 12 hours a day if necessary. Our winery is 15 minutes from town so a car will be required.

We hope to find candidates that are enthusiastic about the Biodynamic and Organic agriculture, as well as biodynamic and minimal input winemaking. Hedges Family Estate offers the experience of a small family farm and winery in the most prized AVA in Washington state.
