Position Overview:
The salary range for this position is: ($101,963)- ($139,573) - Assistant Rank
($124,750)- ($183,441) - Associate Rank This position includes membership in the Health Sciences Compensation plan


The Department of Internal Medicine, Division of General Internal Medicine at the University of California, Davis, School of Medicine, is recruiting for a full-time faculty member in the Adjunct series at the Assistant/Associate Professor rank in the field of General Internal Medicine. Faculty in this series are expected to engage in research or other creative work, participate in teaching at the undergraduate or graduate level, demonstrate professional competence and activity, and provide University and public service. The successful candidate requires innovative and creative contributions to an active research program.

This candidate will make significant and creative scholarly contributions to the Division's mission with potential to expand and strengthen the Division's portfolio of externally funded research, focused on substance use prevention or treatment and health outcomes. The Division is committed to supporting promising research faculty and providing the necessary resources to position them for success in obtaining external research funding.

Applicants at the Assistant level will be expected to present a plan for obtaining independent research funding (e.g., submitting a research career development award proposal). For candidates with a medical degree (MD, DO), additional training in clinical or health services research (research fellowship, master's degree, or equivalent experience or training). Candidates with a medical degree must be eligible to practice medicine in California and be willing to do inpatient and/or outpatient clinical work in the Division. Specific clinical duties will depend on Candidate interests and Division needs. Candidates with a clinical PhD may be eligible to practice in California. The candidate may perform clinical work as part of their appointment depending on Candidate interests and Division needs.

This recruitment is conducted at the assistant/associate rank. The resulting hire will be at the assistant/associate rank, regardless of the proposed appointee's qualifications.
