Position Summary: UCI Beckman Laser Institute & Medical Clinic is internationally-recognized for research, innovation, and translational medicine - all under one collaborative umbrella. UCI Beckman Laser Institute & Medical Clinic inventions include new laser therapies for diseases that were previously untreatable, improving lives for tens of millions of patients worldwide. Reporting to the Associate Director, applies professional UC Academic HR concepts, organization and / or system wide policies, and procedures to provide guidance to supervisors and managers to resolve a variety of academic / staff personnel issues of moderate scope and complexity. The Academic/Personnel Analyst is responsible for departmental academic personnel administration and complex administrative analysis in all aspects of employment, retention, and separation of senate and non-senate academic and staff personnel. The incumbent is responsible for providing on-going high level analysis on academic and staff personnel and payroll matters, including recruitments, appointments, salary administration, annual reviews, merits, benefits, sabbatical, and union related matters. Responsibilities of this position encompass a wide range of duties that are especially time sensitive. This position requires sound communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, and analytical and decision making skills, which are within a team environment.
Compensation Range: $25.62 - $37.64
Department Website: Required: 2-5 years of relevant experience.Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.Knowledge of organization, college and departmental formal and informal policies and procedures and understanding of variances to stated policies. Knowledge of unit academic culture and educational goals of discipline(s) served. Basic knowledge of and ability to apply / interpret organization and college policies and procedures which govern academic HR. Demonstrated organization, problem solving, and communication skills. Strong customer service skills. Analytical skills to conduct analysis and develop recommendations to Directors / unit management. Knowledge of human resources management systems and other related business software programs and systems. Demonstrated skills in establishing and maintaining file systems, both paper and electronic. Ability to use discretion and maintain confidentiality. Final candidate subject to background check.
