The Sr. Financial Analy st is responsible for the consumption and analysis of large volumes of data; identification and articulation of key trends and related financial impacts; modeling of a variety of business scenarios; and delivering clear, insightful, and timely reporting to drive better data-driven decision making across the organization .
What You'll Be Doing:
- Support a nd maintain a thorough understanding of LWT's business model(s), related operational cost structures and effective cross-functional relationships
- Support and act as business partner to functional groups developing, reporting and assessing operational cost basis and ensuring alignment to fiscal plans and reforecasts
- Prepare insightful reporting and analysis distributed routinely and timely and customized to the audience (group, group leader, executive team)
- This analysis will provide actionable insights that will be communicated routinely to business leaders in easily understood terms and presentation
- Track, report , and analyze key performance indicators in a timely manner
- Support the Finance & Accounting team in the development of tools, systems , and processes to support data mining, customer reporting and effective workflow of inter-departmental financial and operational information, leveraging a variety of applications/tools such as NetSuite, Salesforce , and Excel
- Assist the Financial Planning and Analysis Manager in creating and implementing a planning process, inclusive of the business operating plan, capital expenditure plan, cash plan and compensation plans
- Collaborate with group leaders in the preparation of forecasts
- Analyze and track financial results against plans and forecasts
- Support business analysis and evaluate the impact of long-range planning, new initiatives and strategies as needed to support the Financial Planning & Analyst Manager and LWT
- Perform monthly Sales variance analysis versus forecast and help identify actionable items
- Provide other analytical support as needed
Your Experience & Qualifications:
- B.A. or B.S. Accounting or Finance preferred
- 4+ years related experience in Accounting or Finance
- 4+ years related experience performing advanced financial analysis, forecasting and modeling in a Corporate Finance, Consulting or Investment Banking environment
- Experience in educational product industry preferred but not required
- Strong understanding to income statement an d balance sheet impacts to cash flow and profit and loss results
- Strong verbal, written and visual communication skills
- Excellent critical thinking, problem solving, and financial analysis skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple projects at once while completing quality work on a timely basis and within frequent, tight, deadlines
- Experience organizing and interpreting complex, detailed financial data and supporting findings appropriate to various audiences
- Experience and comfort working with sensitive & confidential information; exceptional ethics and judgment
- Ability to work independently and with a team
- Strong interpersonal skills and experience developing and maintaining relationships across various internal and external stakeholders at various management levels
- Advanced proficiency with MS Excel, intermediate proficiency with MS PowerPoint, and working knowledge of all other MS Office products (ex. MS Outlook, Teams, Word, etc.).
- Experience with ERP and accounting software (NetSuite or similar) preferred.
- Extensive experience with data mining analysis
- Excellent attention to detail
