Quality Engineer
My client North of Dallas-Ft. Worth. My client is a premium aluminum casting and machining facility with a very diverse customer base, serving a wide variety of industries including aviation, defense, automotive, commercial, and industrial markets.

Summary Description: Drive process control & improvements through application of knowledge in aerospace, military or automotive quality systems. Driving development and adherence to disciplined systems, robust processes, and best practices. Understanding and an application of AS9100, TS16949, NADCAP, ANSI and ASTM programs and guidelines.
Primary Function(s): - Responsible for ensuring all product meets customer and industry quality requirements
- Coordinating with engineering & operations for robust manufacturing processes
- Review and interpret blueprints and specifications
- Visually inspect parts prior to shipment
- Review routers & paperwork prior to shipment to make sure processes are completed
- Prepare certificates of conformance & certification packages
- RCAA investigation Preparing PPAP/AS9102 packages, utilizing APQP guidelines.
Minimum Requirements: - Bachelor’s degree in engineering or technical discipline
- 2+ years of quality experience in a manufacturing environment
- Able to read, write and comprehend English
- Able to work with mathematical concepts such as probability, statistical inference, ratios, percentages, etc.
- Can lift and carry up to 50 lbs. occasionally
- Able to define/interpret problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
- Effectively communicate with co-workers and customers
- Able to interpret and extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical/word/diagram form and deal with both abstract and concrete variables.
- Able to read, analyze and interpret common scientific & technical journals, and legal documents
Desired Competencies: - Works under indirect supervision following established practices and clear-cut policies in the performance of majority of duties
- Makes decisions when general instructions, established methods and clearly defined precedents indicate action to be taken, but refers unusual problems to cross-functional teams
- Knowledge in development and application of Control Plans, PFMEA, GD&T and Design of Experiments
- Frequent work required near moving mechanical parts, molten aluminum, hot working conditions, in areas with fumes and/or airborne particles, and areas with loud noise
- Frequent sitting required
- Basic Spanish speaking skills, not required but preferred
- Previous metal casting experience, not required but preferred
Pay Details: $85,000.00 to $90,000.00 per year
