The School of Health and Medical Sciences (SHMS) at Seton Hall University invites applications for a twelve-month, Assistant Professor rank faculty position in the Department of Athletic Training beginning July 1, 2024. The incumbent will be a full-time faculty member who will maintain contemporary expertise in an area relevant to Athletic Training, conduct ongoing research individually and collaboratively as part of faculty and/or student teams, and participate in service activities to the Department, School, University, and AT profession.
The School of Health and Medical Sciences at Seton Hall University has a significant national presence in health sciences education. The School has assumed a leadership role in offering high quality, innovative programs at the undergraduate, master's and doctoral levels with a longstanding commitment to interprofessional education (IPE). The School of Health and Medical Sciences offers opportunities for collaborative research, teaching, and grantsmanship across several disciplines.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Qualifications for the position include:
• Board of Certification Certified,
• Licensed as an Athletic Trainer in NJ by the State Board of Medical Examiners (or BME AT License eligible)
• PhD or EdD in a field relevant to Athletic Training. Persons enrolled in a doctoral program may also be considered

Responsibilities include:
Essential duties are multifaceted and include, but are not limited to:
a) Teach and coordinate courses including Foundations of Athletic Training, Principles of Evaluation in Athletic Training, Health Care Administration, and Inter-Professional Practice.
b) Student advising, mentor student cohort groups for Research Project I, II, & III.
c) Coordinate the Interprofessional Education for the MSAT in conjunction with the IPE Faculty Advisory Board.
d) Participate in ongoing scholarly activities, including research presentations and manuscript submissions to peer reviewed venues, appropriate and pertinent to the field of Athletic Training.
e) Contribute to service obligations of the Department, School, University, and AT profession.

Required Qualifications:
• Board of Certification Certified,
• Licensed as an Athletic Trainer in NJ by the State Board of Medical Examiners (or BME AT License eligible)
• PhD or EdD in a field relevant to Athletic Training. Persons enrolled in a doctoral program who are ABD status may also be considered.

Desired Qualifications:

Expected qualifications also include a strong record of scholarship or the potential to develop an independent line of research, academic teaching experience and effectiveness, and essential interprofessional skills.
