Join our team! Laredo Medical Center (LMC) is looking for an Employee Health Nurse. LMC is Laredo’s largest hospital—a 326-bed licensed acute care facility offering a range of inpatient and outpatient services. Position Summary:
- Responsible for managing the employee health service functions of the organization.
- Responsible for administering new hire employee screenings, assisting with work injury processing, and managing employee vaccines and screenings for employment policy.
- Ensures that all employee medical records are maintained online.
- May consult on workers' safety programs, infection control or other employee related issues.
- Relies on nursing experience and judgment, must be self-organized to plan one's own daily calendar to accomplish goals.
- Performs a variety of tasks.
- Support staff available in PRN capacity and seasonal work for special projects, which requires the role to directs the work of others.
- Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.
Work Setting: Works under the advisement of the Director of HR. Administrative, PRN position in office setting, consistent work schedule.
Job Requirements:
Education:
- Required: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing required with current licensure in the State of Texas.
- Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
Experience:
- Required: Possess a minimum of two (2) years experience in a health care institution.
- Required: Must be able to follow direction and to perform work according to department standards.
- Required: Must be emotionally mature and able to function effectively under stress.
- Desirable characteristics include a proficiency in written and verbal communications, possess ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with the public. No travel required for the position.
Licenses/Certificates:
- Required: Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas. Required: Current CPR certification or obtain within 30 days of employment.
