With 163 stylish designed chic bedrooms, well-appointed functional spaces, and an intimate urban rooftop bar designed with adventure in mind, this new boutique hotel is an experiential opportunity for a passionate Chief Engineer ready to find a new home.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, as well as extensive experience in managing a team of maintenance engineers.

Position Summary
As the Chief Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the hotel's engineering operations, including hotel opening, maintenance, repair, and renovation projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, as well as extensive experience in managing a team of engineers and technicians.
The Company operates 24 hours a day and 7 days a week, so operational demands require variations in shift days, starting and ending times, and hours worked in a week.
Responsibilities:
- Maintenance and Repair Management:* Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs for all hotel systems and equipment.
- Coordinate and oversee repair and maintenance projects, ensuring timely completion and adherence to quality standards.
- Conduct regular inspections of the hotel's facilities to identify maintenance needs and address any issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment inventory, and warranties.
- Team Leadership:* Recruit, train, and supervise engineering and maintenance staff, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Foster a culture of teamwork, professionalism, and continuous improvement within the engineering department.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to ensure optimal employee performance and development.
- Budgeting and Cost Control:* Develop and manage the departmental budget, including forecasting expenses and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
- Negotiate contracts with suppliers and service providers to ensure the best value for maintenance and repair services.
- Monitor expenses and implement strategies to control costs while maintaining the quality of services and facilities.
- Compliance and Safety:* Ensure compliance with all relevant building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
- Stay informed about industry best practices and technological advancements to enhance safety and efficiency.
- Conduct regular safety training sessions for engineering staff and ensure adherence to safety protocols and procedures.
- Project Management:* Oversee capital improvement projects, renovations, and upgrades to the hotel's infrastructure.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to develop project plans and specifications.
- Monitor project progress, budgets, and timelines to ensure successful completion within scope and budget.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in engineering or maintenance management, preferably in the hospitality industry.
- Hotel Opening Experience Preferred
- Strong technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and other relevant software.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
